Seagulls were discovered dead or struggling to fly, trying to take off and failing on Waikawa beach near Levin, New Zealand.
The Department of Conservation is now investigating the mysterious mass die-off.
Everyday, more birds fall from the sky… dead. After hundreds of vultures in Africa and thousands of avians in Missouri, more than 150 seagulls have been found dead on a beach in New Zealand on March 6, 2020.
The seagull in the video in this story died about 10 minutes after she finished filming.
The gulls appear to mainly be not protected, native black backed gulls.
The Department of Conservation (DOC) is not yet sure what has happened and is investigating the mysterious event. Meanwhile, they ask people to keep their distance from the gulls, and keep any dogs on leashes.
